Artist Statement
“Specializing in fume implosion techniques, I encase metals (24k gold & silver) and different stones into the glass such as opals to create a unique style in each piece that I create.”
Biographical and Career Information
After completing local glass blowing classes and workshops in Berkeley, Ca, Michael set out 
to learn new techniques and strengthen his flameworking skills at home in his garage studio. He developed his own style as a glass artist and began work as a teaching assistant at Revere Glass Studios in Berkeley. He went on to complete collaborative pieces with artists and names such as Third Eye Pinecones and Dustin Revere. Through private workshops, one-on-one classes, webinars, and many books, Dickinson’s knowledge and quest for developing as an artist expanded. Dickinson’s work incorporates fume implosions and sculptural art to create an expressive representation of the wholeness of nature surrounding us. By staying true to nature’s patterns, his one of a kind pieces bring depth and discovery within the glass that encompasses it.
