In Search of Fertility 09
In Search of Fertility
In Search of Fertility is a visual roadmap of the places I have been on the journey to
motherhood. I never wanted children. Ever. Even as a little girl I refused to play with dolls. Three years ago that changed. A little too late. So far.
In Search of Fertility 13
Using eggs, the essence of fertility, and other props as my subjects, I photograph their stories. Boiling, burning, rotting, playing, dancing and singing. Seeking to give birth to something that will last beyond them. Like a mad scientist seeking a reaction, I set into motion events and photograph the scene and ensuing action as it unfolds, acting as both instigator and scribe.
My photographs are shot with a variety of digital and film cameras, printed with pigment inks on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag paper.
